Week 3 Top 25 Preview

No. 1 Alabama @ No. 6 Texas A&M, 3:30 p.m. ET, CBS
See pick 6 previews for more on this match up.

No. 2 Oregon vs. Tennessee, 3:30 p.m. ET, ABC
This will be a better game than I am sure the spread indicates. Tennessee’s defense will be the fastest the Ducks have faced this season and I will be interested to see how they respond. Chances are pretty good this one will be Oregon running away from Tennessee, but if the Vols can get some stops early they could make it interesting.
Nick’s pick-Oregon, 52-35
Jeremy’s pick- Oregon, 52-31

No. 3 Clemson, Idle. Next game @ NC State, Thur. Sept. 19

No. 4 Ohio State @ Cal, 7 p.m. ET, FOX
Ohio State should have now problem running over Cal. The Buckeyes have averaged over 250 yards on the ground this season and should be able to control the line of scrimmage and win this one. It will be interesting to see if Braxton Miller plays this game and if so, how effective he will be.
Nick’s pick-Ohio State, 38-10
Jeremy’s pick- Ohio State, 41-31

No. 5 Stanford @ Army, Noon ET, CBS Sports Network
Ah, I’m not too sure what to say about this one.  Another good tune up before opening their conference schedule.
Jeremy’s pick- 42-6
Nick’s pick- 34-3

No. 7 Louisville @ Kentucky, Noon ET, ESPN
I think Kentucky keeps this game close.  Stoops will have something ready for Bridgewater.
Nick’s pick-Louisville, 42-24
Jeremy’s pick- Louisville, 27-23

No. 8 LSU vs. Kent State, 7 p.m. ET, ESPN
LSU’s offense and Zach Mettenberger have been a surprise this season and they should have no problem handling a Kent State team that was just blowout by Bowling Green. Expect Mettenberger to go off in this one and LSU to put up some serious points.
Nick’s pick-LSU, 49-13
Jeremy’s pick- LSU, 41-10

No. 9 Georgia, Idle. Next game vs. North Texas, Sept. 21

No. 10 Florida State vs. Nevada, 3:30 p.m. ET, ESPN
Famous Jameis makes his Doak Campbell debut.  Nevada can put pressure on the Seminoles defense but just don’t have the horses to stack up.
Nick’s pick- Florida State, 38-13
Jeremy’s pick- Florida State, 41-17

No. 11 Michigan vs. Akron, Noon ET, Big Ten Network
The Wolverines are coming off a big win over Notre Dame. Lets not even bring up the “hangover” word. Michigan and rising star Devon Gardner should have an easy time against the Zips.
Nick’s pick-Michigan, 34-7
Jeremy’s pick- Michigan, 45-14

No. 12 Oklahoma State vs. Lamar, 7:30 p.m. ET, No TV
Easy game here for the Cowboys and J.W. Walsh against Lamar as they should hang half-a-hundred. I am sure the Pokes offense will roll and the off field allegations will have no effect yet.
Nick’s pick-Oklahoma State, 56-6
Jeremy’s pick- Oklahoma State, 51-14

No. 13 South Carolina vs. Vanderbilt, 7 p.m. ET, ESPN
See Pick 6 Previews

No. 14 Oklahoma vs. Tulsa, Noon ET, ESPN2
The Sooners are without starting quarterback Trevor Knight, but backup Blake Bell should be able to handle Tulsa fine. The Sooners defense looks better than advertised and can handle the high paced offense of the Golden Hurricane.
Nick’s pick-Oklahoma, 31-14
Jeremy’s pick- 35-10

No. 15 Miami Idle, Next Game Savannah State, Sept. 21

No. 16 UCLA @ Nebraska, Noon ET, ABC
See Pick 6 Preview.

No. 17 Northwestern vs. Western Michigan, 9 p.m. ET, Big Ten Network
The Wildcats should have an easy time in this game as they looked really good last week against Syracuse. Northwestern should be able to control the ground and run all over Western Michigan. All-B1G running back Venric Mark has yet to make an impact this season and I think he will this game.
Nick’s pick-Northwestern, 48-28
Jeremy’s pick- Northwestern, 38-24

No. 18 Florida, Idle Next Game vs. Tennessee, Sept. 21

No. 19 Washington @ Illinois, 6 p.m. ET, Big Ten Network
Huskies have a tough one this week and haven’t been very good on the road under Sarkisian.  Illinois is a surprising 2-0.
Nick’s pick-Washington, 35-31
Jeremy’s pick- Washington, 31-24

No. 20 Wisconsin @ Arizona State, 10:30 p.m. ET, ESPN
See Pick 6 Previews.

No. 21 Notre Dame @ Purdue, 8 p.m. ET, ABC
Tough loss for the Irish last week.  Purdue should help them get back on track.
Nick’s pick-Notre Dame, 28-13
Jeremy’s pick- Notre Dame, 38-13

No. 22 Baylor, Idle, Next game vs. LA-Monroe, Sept. 21

No. 24 TCU @ Texas Tech, 7:30 p.m. ET, ESPN
See Pick 6 Previews

No. 25 Ole Miss @ Texas, 8 p.m. ET, Longhorn Network
