1- Alabama
2- Stanford
3- Oregon
4- South Carolina
5- Clemson

The only change in the lineup of the top five is the Clemson Tigers moving up two spots to number five.  After their week 1 win over the Georgia Bulldogs, the Tigers showed that they’re ready for the spot-light and deserving of their spot.

6- Ohio State
7- Texas A&M
8- Florida State
9- Georgia
10- Notre Dame

There’s a little change-up in 6-10, with Georgia dropping from No. 5 to No. 9.  The loss to Clemson hurts but more concerning is their week 2 visit from South Carolina and the loss of their best receiver Malcolm Mitchell.  As a result of the Dawgs dropping, Texas A&M and Florida State move up a spot after their week 1 wins.

11- Florida
12- LSU
13- Oklahoma State
14- Oklahoma
15- Michigan

LSU moves up from my preseason No. 16 to No. 12 after a solid week 1 win against TCU.  The rest of my 11-16 stands pat.

16- UCLA
17- Louisville
18- Texas
19- TCU
20- Washington

There are a lot of new players at 16-20.  Louisville, Texas and Washington move up four spots, four spots and five spots, respectively.  Washington had the biggest win of the group with their home-opener drubbing of Boise State.  Louisville looked good in their win over Ohio and Texas had a good outing in a winnable game against New Mexico St.  UCLA’s win over Nevada was impressive and they move up to No. 16 this week.

21- Nebraska
22- Miami
23- Northwestern
24- Baylor
25- Boise State

I always hate dropping teams for winning games but Nebraska was saved by the clock at home against Wyoming.  The Huskers ground game will be among the best in the B1G but that defense must improve.  Boise State lost a tough game in a really tough environment but, like last year, I think the Broncos will rebound and develop into a really solid team.  Baylor is the only addition to my top 25 after blowing out Wofford.  Sure, it’s Wofford but Baylor looks like they have to tools and the talent to compete in the Big 12.

The only team to drop out of the top 25 is Oregon State.  The Beavers gave up 49 points at home to FCS, Eastern Washington.  Top 25 teams don’t do that.

Bubble teams:
Wisconsin, Fresno State, Ole Miss, Cincinnati, Bowling Green, NIU
