Week 8 Top 25 Preview/Picks


No. 1 Alabama vs. Arkansas, 7 PM ET, ESPN
The Tide should handle a struggling Arkansas team. Bama remains No. 1.

Nick’s Pick: Alabama, 38-10

No. 2 Oregon vs. Washington State, 10 PM ET, Fox Sports 1
Oregon is going to run over an improving Washington State team. Another snoozer here.
Nick’s Pick: Oregon, 49-27
Jeremy’s Pick: Oregon, 56-24

No. 4 Ohio State vs. Iowa, 3:30 ET, ABC/ESPN2
Ohio State should have no trouble with Iowa. The Hawkeyes are looking better than previously thought this season, but cannot handle the Shoe.
Jeremy’s Pick: Ohio State, 30-27
Nick’s Pick: Ohio State, 31-21

No. 6 LSU @ Ole Miss, 7 PM ET, ESPN2
The Tigers need to avoid the overconfidence bug on the road at a tough Ole Miss team. Expect this one to be a little closer than you think.
Nick’s Pick: LSU, 38-35
Jeremy’s Pick: LSU, 41-24

No. 7 Texas A&M vs. No. 24 Auburn, 3:30 PM ET, CBS
It is hard to bet against Johnny Manziel. The kid can play the game he put the Aggies on his back last game and led them to victory against an upset hungry Ole Miss team. Auburn is newly ranked but that won’t last long.

Nick’s Pick: Texas A&M, 44-35

No. 9 UCLA @ No. 13 Stanford, 3:30 PM ET, ABC
Can UCLA join the elite of the Pac-12? Can Stanford rebound after being upset by Utah? The Bruins are looking for its major statement win.
Nick’s Pick: Stanford, 34-27
Jeremy’s Pick: UCLA, 30-27

No. 11 South Carolina @ Tennessee, Noon ET, ESPN
South Carolina is in a tough SEC road stretch and could have a tough game against Tennessee. The Vols are looking for that statement upset in Butch Jones first season.
Jeremy’s Pick: South Carolina, 34-31
Nick’s Pick: Tennessee, 31-30

No. 12 Baylor vs. Iowa State, 7 PM ET, ESPNU
Iowa State is a team that gives the top teams headaches, but against the Baylor offense no way it has a chance.
Nick’s Pick: Baylor, 70-28
Jeremy’s Pick: Baylor, 65-21

No. 14 Missouri vs. No. 22 Florida, 12:21 PM ET, GamePlan/ESPN3
Missouri is without quarterback James Franklin and Florida is without an offense. This should be a low scoring game with the team that can score a touchdown winning it.
Jeremy’s Pick: Florida, 16-12
Nick’s Pick: Missouri, 13-9

No. 15 Georgia @ Vanderbilt, Noon, CBS
Georgia should be able to get back on track in this game with Todd Gurley back on the field. The Dawgs are too good to lose two in a row.

Jeremy’s Pick: Georgia, 37-24

No. 16 Texas Tech @ West Virginia, Noon, Fox Sports 1
Tech has been one of the surprises of the season, but can it escape a tough conference road test at West Virginia?

Nick’s Pick: Texas Tech, 35-31

No. 17 Fresno State vs. UNLV, 10 ET
Derek Carr and Co. should handle a somewhat surprisingly improved UNLV team.
Nick’s Pick: Fresno State, 55-24
Jeremy’s Pick: Fresno State, 51-38



No. 18 Oklahoma vs. Kansas, 3:30 PM ET, ESPN
Oklahoma will rebound from a tough loss to Texas last week with a beat down of Kansas.
Jeremy’s Pick: Oklahoma, 41-13
Nick’s Pick: Oklahoma, 52-10

No. 20 Washington vs. Arizona State, 6 PM ET, Pac-12 Network
Washington, Keith Price and Bishop Sankey should be able to recover after losing two in a row to then top five ranked teams. Washington will get back on track and even its record in the Pac-12.
Jeremy’s Pick: Washington, 34-24
Nick’s Pick: Washington, 41-31

No. 21 Oklahoma State vs. TCU, Noon, Fox
This could be a tough game for Oklahoma State, but the problem for TCU is it has no offense to score enough points to win this game.
Nick’s Pick: Oklahoma State, 31-13
Jeremy’s Pick: Oklahoma State, 20-17

No. 23 Northern Illinois @ Central Michigan, 3 PM ET, ESPN3
The Huskies are still rolling through the MAC and should have no trouble with Central Michigan.
Jeremy’s Pick: Northern Illinois, 28-21
Nick’s Pick: Northern Illinois, 35-20

No. 25 Wisconsin @ Illinois, 8 PM ET, BTN
Wisconsin is playing as good as any team in the B1G and can handle a decent Illinois team.
Nick’s Pick: Wisconsin, 35-20
Jeremy’s Pick: Wisconsin,  33-21
