Jeremy’s Top 25 Breakdown

1-Alabama (4-0)
2- Stanford (4-0)
3- Oregon (4-0)
4- Clemson (4-0)
5- Georgia (3-1)

The only change up in my top five this week is the addition of Georgia.  After a gauntlet of a schedule so far the Dawgs are 3-1 where most teams would have broken under the same pressure.  I realize Georgia does have the one loss and teams behind them are still undefeated but I just don’t think OSU or FSU could be Georgia.  Plus, neither team has faced much competition so far.

6- Ohio State (5-0)
7- Florida State (4-0)
8- Texas A&M (4-1)
9- LSU (4-1)
10- UCLA (3-0)

LSU flops with Georgia and takes their spot at No. 9.  I still really like LSU and they’re not out of the picture yet.  Ohio State will get, perhaps their first test of the season at Northwestern on Saturday.  Florida State gets a tough Maryland team this week but are really playing for Clemson on Oct. 19th.

11- Washington (4-0)
12- Oklahoma (4-0)
13- South Carolina (3-1)
14- Louisville (4-0)
15- Miami (4-0)

I’ve moved my 11-15 around quite a bit after last week.  I’ve moved Washington up to No. 11.  I realize this might be a little premature given that they’ve got to go to Stanford on Saturday.  That said, I’ve been high on this team all year and I think they can go in to Palo Alto and get a win.  After a solid win at Notre Dame, I’ve moved Oklahoma up to No. 12.  The Sooners are playing well on offense, but it’s the defense that has me excited.  I’ve dropped SC a little after an iffy performance against UCF.  Miami checks in at No. 15, up from 16 last week but they’re about to hit a tough five week stretch in ACC play.

16- Baylor (3-0)
17- Florida (3-1)
18- Northwestern (4-0)
19- Michigan (4-0)
20- Oklahoma State (3-1)

Baylor checks in at No. 16.  The Bears had a bye last week but they’re going to get into conference play this week and we’ll find out a lot more about them.  I’ve moved Florida up from No. 19 because their defense is so dominant.  Northwestern moves up, but we’ll see where they stand with the Buckeyes coming to town this week.  Michigan sits at No. 19.  Oklahoma State drops from No. 14 last week to No. 20 this week after a loss to West Virginia.

21- Texas Tech (4-0)
22- Fresno State (4-0)
23- Maryland (4-0)
24- NIU (4-0)
25- Ole Miss (3-1)

Texas Tech, Fresno State, Maryland and NIU check in to the top 25 for the first time.  Texas Tech is 4-0 but we’ll see how they do coming off a bye week.  They’ve got a few winnable games before trips to WVU and Oklahoma.  Fresno State checks in at No. 22 after their 4th win of the season at Hawai’i.  Maryland and NIU check in at 23 and 24, respectively.  Maryland is off to a great 4-0 start but they travel to Florida State Saturday.  NIU is taking care of business once again and scoring a ton of points.  Ole Miss is coming off a loss to Alabama but they’ll be a tough out the rest of the way.

Out- Notre Dame (3-2), Wisconsin (3-2), Georgia Tech (3-1), UCF (3-1)

Bubble Teams- Virginia Tech (4-1), Notre Dame (3-2), ASU (3-1), Missouri (4-0).
